Can I Build My Own Website from Scratch?
From a business point of view, it is not impossible to build my own website or anyone else’s for that matter. There are plenty of ways to do it now. In the first years, it took a lot of complicated design and skill in order to build a website. Since the technology was still new then, only programmers and web designers were able to build one and the only people who could afford to have their own website build were wealthy ones with large-scale businesses.
But then blogging became popular and with it, themes and different platforms that pretty much allowed anyone to build my own website in just a matter of hours. When blogger and Livejournal started becoming popular, users needed a bit of HTML or CSS knowledge in order to get things up and running. You would need to add some code in order to be able to customize your site. The simplest things such as adding a sidebar or a column on the side needed code and so people who were interested to learn how to build my own website had to learn the basics – no matter how time consuming it was. After a couple of years, they invented widgets and plug-ins that eliminated the need for any kind of CSS knowledge.
Nowadays, people can set up a website in a few clicks and just by selecting from pre-set options. You can choose the kind of layout and design you want for your website just by clicking a button. There’s a drag and drop menu where you can just drag and image and it will be resized to become your page’s header or background image. Unlike before, when you would need to tweak the codes manually, the current setup automatically adjusts the image to become that. It saves people a lot of time and technical know-how. It allows anyone to build my own website and customize its contents up to a certain extent.
But if you’re asking of you can build my own website from scratch, you still can. Not everyone is reliant on WordPress or other free website making tools. There are still businesses which require creating your own website without the use of any templates. This is needed on websites that have their own shopping carts for example. Or multiple payment systems or other features that need to be incorporated. The simple websites do not have the capability to accommodate these and so these need to be designed and coded by web designers and programmers before the website can be made live.
There are different elements that go into a website that is made from scratch and you would often need a team of people with different specializations to get this done. It also does not get done right away. Some complex websites take months to finish because the codes and the programs need to be tested before it is even made available to the clients as well as customers. You can start learning design, programming and coding if you really want to be serious about this.
